Activity as a function of body weight1’2
نویسنده
چکیده
ABSTRACI’ Thirty-one undergraduate men and women who weighed more (overweight) or who weighed less (underweight) than the normal weight limits for their height wore actometers on all four limbs 24 h each day for 14 consecutive days. All groups were found to be equally active. This result fails to replicate previously reported results that overweight men and women are hypoactive. This discrepancy is explained in terms of differences in percent overweight between the present and previous samples. The possibility of a catastrophic decline in activity as a function of percent overweight is discussed. Am J Gun Nutr l987;46:45l-5.

متن کاملResponses of Muscle Mitochondrial Function to Physical Activity: A Literature Review
Skeletal muscles play an active role in regulating the metabolic homeostasis through their ability for relating to adipose tissue and endocrine hormones. Contraction of the skeletal muscle leads to increased release of several myokines, such as irisin, which is able to interact with the adipose tissue. Physical activity promotes the irisin mechanism by augmenting the peroxisomes (PGC1-α) in the...
